Breastfeeding vs. Formula

If you take anything away from my blog, please let it be that you are a superhuman for growing, birthing, and raising two babies simultaneously. Never forget that. It may feel like everyone you know and even strangers feels the right to weigh in on your parental decisions with their opinions. But keep in mind that you have the privilege to decide what is best for you and your babies.

Stay true to yourself and do whatever works best for you, your babies, your mental health, and your body. You want them to have solely breast milk? Great! You want them to have solely formula? Great! You want to combo feed? Great! It can be hard to block out of the noise of others in all things motherhood, but especially this. Always remember that your worth as a mother is not measured in ounces. You alone are more than enough for your babies no matter what route your feeding journey takes you.

If I could give you one thing to consider as a twin mom, having the ability to have someone help can give you the only moments you get to yourself-even if that’s just taking a much needed shower. If you plan to exclusively breastfeed, consider pumping in addition to nursing so your partner can help with feeding bottles on occasion.

All that said, I chose to do solely breastfeeding through both nursing and pumping. But I always had formula in my pantry in case that needed to change for any reason. Solely breastfeeding twins is a daunting task, I won’t lie. But it’s possible and I hope to share some insight on that for anyone trying to take on that feat.
