Diapers and Wipes

Unless you choose to use reusable washable diapers, you will spend thousands of dollars on diapers. To help jumpstart your diaper journey, I highly recommend doing a diaper raffle if you have a baby shower. My husband and I have huge families so gifted shower diapers lasted us about 7 months which is a massive saving. But any amount will help you!

Below is a list of all the diaper and wipe companies we’ve tried and our thoughts assuming a proper size and application:

Diapers

Zero or Limited Blowouts:

  1. Millie Moon – Soft and good capture
  2. Huggies Snugglers and Skin Essentials – Good capture
  3. Pampers Pure and Swaddlers- Good capture and runs a bit larger than other brands so you can stay on a smaller size longer
  4. Honest- Soft and good capture but beware that it runs smaller than other brands so you size up quicker
  5. Parents Choice – Not the softest but didn’t blow out

So. Many. Blowouts. Avoid:

  1. CVS brand- Rough material and constant blowouts
  2. Luvs- A notch better than CVS in quality but still daily blowouts

Pricey Ones We’ve Only Sampled:

  1. Healthy Baby Our Diaper – Super soft, contained a lot of poo
  2. Parasol Bye Bye Rash Diaper – Super soft, good capture

Wipes

  1. Woopsie Wipes- 100% recommend. These are dry wipes to supplement your wet wipes. I think wiping them dry is a huge reason my babies rarely got a diaper rash. These also can be used for spit up.
  2. Honest wipes- Perfect, no issues
  3. Water wipes – Good but would be nice if you didn’t have to reach in for every single wipe
  4. Huggies natural wipes- Good but wipes do stick if you only pull with one hand
  5. Freestyle Bamboo Wipes – Too large for newborns, otherwise good
  6. Fisher Price – Too dry, weird texture, almost too thin to be useful, and reminds me of wet dryer sheets
