Formula Feeding Tips

The first step is to decide which formula you want to offer your babies. There are an incredible number of options and your decision is impacted by budget, accessibility, and preference.

If you’re formula feeding on a budget or want to prepare for the large amount of food two babies eat, consider stocking up in a wholesale setting such as BJs or Costco. If you plan to go that route, make sure your store of choice carries your selected formula. A fun little tip is that you don’t need to be a wholesale member to reap these benefits. You can order from a wholesale club you aren’t a member of by using a delivery service such as Instacart.

I’m what you would call a “Moderately Granola Mom.” I care about things like how food is sourced, limited additives, etc. For that reason, the formula I had on hand was Kendamil. This is a British brand that has higher standards for their food than the United States. It also is stocked at Target so it’s accessible in many areas. But I encourage you to do you own research and, again, make a decision that’s best for you and your family. The main Kendamil formula islinked here.

If you know from the start you’re going to formula feed, I highly recommend getting the Baby Brezza to make your life easier with the quantity of bottles you’ll be making. This is practically like a Keurig for formula that manages the mixture and temperature for you.

You’ll also want a feeding station so you can feed both babies at once. The Twin Z is a great option as it’s a multipurpose breastfeeding pillow that you can also prop your babies in for feeding. However, if you won’t be combo feeding, you may be more inclined to get the Table for Two as it’s at the idea angle for safe feeding.
